Abstract
The post-event processing is one of the factors maintaining social anxiety disorder, which reviews one¡¯s behavior they showed and the reaction of others after a social situation. The aim of this study was to validate the Korean version of the Post-Event Processing Questionnaire-Revised (PEPQ-R). In this study, 742 adults collected by quota sampling completed the PEPQ-R. Exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were conducted to examine whether it was appropriate to include an item that evaluates state anxiety in PEPQ-R. In addition, the Post-Event Rumination Scale, the Social Interaction Anxiety and Social Phobia Scale, and the Ruminative Response Scale were used to verify convergent, discriminant, and incremental validity. The result of exploratory factor analysis showed that the PEPQ-R is a one-factor structure consistent with previous studies. However, as a result of confirmatory factor analysis, unlike the original scale, the PEPQ-R revealed that model fit of the model without the item which evaluates state anxiety was good compared to the model including the item. The PEPQ-R indicated that internal consistency was excellent and convergent, discriminant, and incremental validity was good. This scale is expected to be useful for research related to post-event processing and therapy of social anxiety disorder.
